A Community-Centered Ecosystem for Birthworkers

The Doula Ecosystem is a holistic framework that supports community birthworkers across every stage of their journey, from training and certification to business sustainability, wellness, and advanced credentials. Rooted in collective care and cultural responsiveness, we strengthen both birthworkers and the families they serve.

What is a doula?

A doula is a trained community care worker who provides emotional, physical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and other reproductive experiences, helping families feel informed, supported, and respected in their care.

Doula Passage Program (DPP)

The Doula Passage Program is the foundation of the Doula Ecosystem. It is an intentional learning environment designed to provide education and support to community-based doulas.  This program prepares community members to become skilled, culturally responsive doulas through training, mentorship, and hands-on learning.

  • The hands-on experiences, role plays, and simulations during the training were invaluable in building my confidence and honing my skills. Your constructive feedback, patience, and willingness to address our questions and concerns ensured that we had a comprehensive understanding of the doula role and responsibilities… serving as a solid foundation for my future practice as a doula.

DPP Alumni Coaching & Catalyst Program

This year-long opportunity is available to doulas upon completion of the Doula Passage Program. The Alumni Coaching & Catalyst Program blends foundational elements of the Business Catalyst curriculum with ongoing coaching support. Participants are paired with a DPP Alumni Coach who guides them from learning to implementation.

Through this experience, doulas gain the practical skills, confidence, and structure needed to build businesses rooted in care, purpose, and sustainability.
