The Anarcha Center is a multifunctional building that serves as a community hub in the heart of North Omaha. The Anarcha Center serves as a central gathering place for shared learning, cultural events, and political home.

Who is Anarcha?

We named our physical home in honor of Anarcha Wescott, a 17-year-old enslaved girl who was subjected to brutal experimental gynecological surgeries, experimentation and torture without any anesthetics shortly after giving birth for the first time.

Anarcha, along with Betsey Harris and Lucy Zimmerman, were the first documented, named enslaved girls who faced these atrocities, marking the terrifying inception of the gynecological field that continues to impact Black maternal health today.

I Be Black Girl’s, The Anarcha Center, is a community hub in Historic North Omaha.  

The Anarcha Center membership will come with: 

  • Key card access from 9-8 pm Monday through Sunday to the building for your booking, providing flexibility for busy schedules, and encouraging a sense of ownership and responsibility. 

  • The ability to work collaboratively or single handedly in your designated booked space.

The Collab Rooms

Spaces you have access to reserve at The Anarcha Center:

    • 3 White boards including markers 

    • Capacity to fit 12 with tables and chairs and 20 with just chairs 

    • 1 Smart TV that can cast or mirror presentations and/or media 

    • Direct entry into collab space with large floor to ceiling windows that contain a privacy curtain 

    • Room length whiteboard including markers 

    • Capacity to fit 18 with tables and chairs 

    • 1 Smart TV that can cast or mirror presentations and/or media 

    • Access to restroom located at the back of the Collab Space 

    • 1 Lounge chair 

    • 2 Sitting chairs 

    • Kids toys 

    • Baby scale 

    • Sound machine 

    • Maternal & child health supplies 

    • Wellness Rooms A & B can also be booked as one large room with a retractable privacy wall

    • Private drop in workspace

    • 2 Privacy screen desk
